| So today was my one month away from home anniversary. I celebrated by going to Burnaby. YAY far.
Craziest month ever. I was thinking about new year's resoluiton and how I've done a lot of them before ringing in the new year:
-I've traveled to mexico and a lot of the states.
-moved to a new city.
-got myself a job. working on getting a better one.
-cut down a lot on my drinking.
-got some awesome roommates whom I love with all my heart.
I guess one of my goals for 2005 is to travel more and decide whether my next plane ticket to ottawa is going to be a return ticket or not.
Also, there are raccoons having sex outside the bedroom window. pretty scary sounding and looking.

| So I'm emplyed in Vancouver. YAY !!!!
Today was my "orientation day" at a crepe cafe on 4th (that's right, I'm making awesome crepes now). It turned out to be an 8 hour shift where I was supposed to know how to run a coffee shop. NOt the best job, but at least it's income.
I'm also very excited about ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) kakkoi_hakujin coming to visit in late february and to lumpy_lia moving here. I miss everyone.

| So i'm here in beautiful Kitsilano in the heart of Vancouver. Saby and Kirsten are taking good care of me. My 3 day bus ride recovery was a lot better than i expected. i was exhausted and barely made it to Gregg and Anita's christmas party but i'm glad i went and surprised them. I then slept for 8 hours and felt fine. No soreness or grumpyness. the only crappy part is that i'm fighting a nasty cold i picked up somewhere in colorado.
Our trip to the states/mexico couldn't have gone better. we were a little concerned for our safety at certain points which prevented us from going far into mexico. instead we stayed in texas and took day trips into mexico. anyway it was an awesome experience. i'm glad i did it. saw and did so much. i am however really glad to be back in canada.
Now i have to do all the fun stuff included in starting a new life i.e get a job, find a place to stay, find a vancouver version of the dominion, etc...

| I realized i never write in here anymore but i have a bit of time to update.
So it's day 3 of my vancouver trip. i can't believe how beautiful it is and how nice people are. still so many things to do. i wish i could stay for at least 2 more weeks. i'm sure i could extend my reservations at the sabristen inn a while longer.
I'm at sabrina's work right now at the kid's market. i surprised her by bringing her cats down from "lustville". it was the greatest surprise reunion ever.
tonight we're going out (maybe with gregg and anita). i've already bought myself some clothes so i can show them off on our night on the town. we've also decided to have our annual picnic on the beach this year.

| I got the best letter from the wonderful sabyorange on mon which included a top secret surprise. That really made my week. Thank you so much. I am working on your letter.
I think i need another dream vacation. I still love my job and all but i find myself a lot more irritable around voluntary illiterate people who need to be held by the hand for anything and everything in life. I guess i can't be too bitter since one of these scatterbrains left a bus ticket in the theater and never claimed it. This tkt takes me from ottawa to london to toronto and back to ottawa. I don't really want to see london so i think my next dream vacation will take place in toronto land.
Also if anyone is looking for something to do on Saturday, i recommend seing the play Suburbia. Awesome play, very well acted, makes for a good evening. Plus tkts are cheap (8$ or 6 $ for students). It plays at Ottawa U, 133 Seraphin Marion.

| My hair is now short. Really short. Last time it was this length was about 6 years ago. It comes down right under my ears. It looks awful but it feels awesome. I even got it thined out and it's now half as thick as it was before. Now I think I'm just going to let it grow again.
I also went to see the press screening for The Fog Of War on monday. Very well made, informative and just plain brilliant. (I don't think Errol Morris has made a bad film yet). So that's my new big movie recomendation. It will be playing at Bytowne starting on Friday. It plays for something like 2 weeks.
I think I'll need some confirmation on this but as of now, all you party ppl are invited to a get together at the Cock and Lion Pub on Monday the 16th. Hosted by the one and only Mr. Kev (aka Captain chili pants).
So now I'm off to enjoy my weekend. Just not sure what to do with myself yet. I'm sure I'll find lots of adventures to go on.

| BIGGEST news on the update issue : me and my sister form another mister Emilie are kinda taking a break form each other so me and my brother from another mother will get to hang out a whole lot more.
Ok so I haven't updated in a whikle ...... This is for everyone who told me to post more often. I may be too drunk to post a synopsis on my life but I do have an anouncement to make.
In my 7 months of employment at Bytowne Cineam, I have seen almost every single movie that has played at least once (taht's over 100 movies !!!) and have nevet advertised or promoted any of them. .... until tonight. I got to see the Ottawa premiere of The Corporation and I highly recomend it to anyone who is reading this and can sit through a 2 1/2 hour movie..... It got a powerful standing ovation from the 630 audience members and is among my top 5 favorite movies played at my place of employment.
Aside from that I'm not doing anything much worth noting. I am actually doing a good job of saving up money to move out and I am getting myself into shape with the help of my gym membership which includes pilates/kick boxing lessons. This makes me feel so good about myseld. Bye bye beer belly !!
I'm also doing very well in betting this crappy weather induced bad mood with the help of my wonderful friends who always manage to make me feel better. Thanx guys :)

As if the Bytowne is open tonight, no day off for me. How budget is that :(
It was a fun night though. Met up with Ed unplucked and walked around town for like 5 hours. Got a bit of my super top secret mission done. Ed decided to bring his hi tech camera with us and started interviewing random pedestrians on what they thought was the cause of this "Power Crisis 2003"
It definetly brought out the crazy in a lot of ppl.
We finished the night at a candle lit Dunn's having warm beers. mmmmmmm.
